Desert Dream (or You Dance Like A Gorilla On Fire)
You dance like a gorilla on fire
to the beat of the river
that pulsates
like a salamander in heat
Above, steam ripples
from vast rainbow-sherbet-sky
slithers down rusted clay mountains
across dripping sand and
envelopes my skin with desire
to touch
Outside, bass thump vibrates
speakers of a '69 Chevy Malibu
